In a world predicated on homogeny, it is easy to lose our voice in the stories we tell, opting for abbreviated versions that fit the narrative of sameness. We lose our storied identity when we allow our voice to be drowned out by the hive. Rather than choosing our words, our stories are ghostwritten by history and doubt. To be one’s own author is to know who we are, see where we are, and map the challenging terrain forward. Writing chapters as makers of time, change, and progression.
It is through the process of creating, we build an authentic life of purpose and contribution. A life of beauty and fulfillment, though difficult as life is, attainable through the ongoing process of self-awareness, creative endeavor, and the persistence of trying.

Nature and the creative endeavor are both a reflection of who we are and our place within the bigger picture of living. It is within this we learn who we are, our intuition, biology, mind and body. We are made of stardust, born from nature and as complex and beautiful as the universe that surrounds us.

Art, no matter the category is both mirror and window, a storyteller of our human experience. It excavates and eases emotion, as it exposes a different prismatic view of living life: who we are, where we’re going, beauty, and the equanimous.

Living a fulfilled life is as varied as we are, who we are and where we are living. Our commonality is the creative mind, our ability to resolve the old and imagine the newness that enables a purposeful life. We may be bound to DNA and our lineage of being human, but it is the creative mind that has no true buffer, nor end of road. We have proven to have the capacity to destroy and renew in cyclical form, as order and chaos. This is our being human, fallible, and beautiful. Perfectly imperfect.

If nature and the universe are our start and end, it is this vastness that reflects who we are, our ability to expand, contract and change, inspiring through energy and beauty. It is our inherent ability to create that reflects our natural way of being, our intuitive cartographer, natural guide and muse. Through the creative mind, DNA and our capacity for empathy, we build and refurbish the paths we walk upon.
