The ceramic vessels by artist Kathryn Robinson-MIllen are influenced by architecture and nature. Though structural, these vessels are intended for flower arranging, such as ikebana or sogetsu, further exploring the contrasts of the human-built and the organic. Their painterly surfaces contrasted with the structural overall form, expands this exploration. Her work delves deep into our natural tendencies of the ordered and organic, structural and simplistic, self-expression and inspiration: our built and natural world. Beauty and the perfectly imperfect.

Our environment whether natural or built, eases, and inspires by way of intuition, our pull toward the beauty of nature and the hand-created. To build a better life is to be more attuned to our natural tendencies and self-regulation, buffering the social dogmas that are counterintuitive to who we are and desire to become. It is with nature and beauty we are inspired to be who we are, digging deeper and going further.

We are biologically attuned to nature and continue to build our world within it, while simultaneously trying to save it.
